

NLP Computational Linguist
Our Computational Linguistics Group applies Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to physician-patient conversations, delivering deep insights about the nature of those interactions. Verilogue is seeking an NLP specialist with a background in computer science and/or software engineering. The focus of this position will be on algorithms and analytics involving Computational Linguistics. The candidate should expect to implement cutting-edge algorithms from this domain, converting theoretical and academic research into an operational platform.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Conduct NLP research with large datasets
- Conduct semantic and syntactic analysis
- Rapidly develop prototypes, and support the development of production quality applications from those prototypes
Key Competencies
- Solid understanding of NLP research techniques
- Demonstrated proficiency with real data analysis with large datasets
- Experience with semantic and syntactic analysis
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Fluent in multiple programming languages and architectures, including n-tier development as well as web services and distributed computing
- Familiarity with real world applications of neural nets, support vector machines, clustering, Bayes classification methods, K-means, and nearest neighbor a plus
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, small-team environment
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Science / Mathematics / Computational Linguistics / Statistics is required
- 3+ years experience conducting NLP research is required
- Direct experience with the software development process is required
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry or specific health-related conditions is desirable
