

Managing Director of Finance
Verilogue is seeking an experienced finance and accounting professional who will work directly with the President and be responsible for the tasks outlined below, as well as other duties as directed.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Serve as key business partner by providing strategic financial guidance and leadership for long-range planning, introduction of new programs or growth strategies, and other potential fiscal challenges or issues.
- Manage the daily operations of the accounting and finance function, including monthly closings, cash management, invoices, revenue recognition and commissions.
- Manage the annual and monthly financial reporting. Prepare timely financial statements and budget tracking reports. Review any budget items of concern with department heads as needed. Manage cash flow and reporting to ensure cash requirements are covered at all times.
- Manage outsourcing partnerships with Book and Tax accounting partners, including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Serve as liaison with independent auditors; oversee audit compliance as well as reporting and analysis.
- Lead scorecard initiatives and liaison with senior management to create best practices and standard financial tracking metrics.
- Prepare quarterly commission and bonus calculations.
- Prepare annual taxes and follow up with states and IRS.
- Lead and manage relationships with assigned outside vendors, including but not limited to insurance brokers, government entities and office equipment and supplies.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Key Competencies
- A strong background in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a company’s fiscal function and performance is essential.
- Must have solid understanding of accounting principles, laws and regulations for service-oriented and/or database firms.
- Experience with partnership, licensing, joint venture and/or co-marketing deals preferred.
- Deal experience, including raising capital and/or mergers/acquisition, is preferred.
- Must possess strong leadership and communication skills.
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint are needed.
- Exposure to an early stage or start up company, preferably with venture capital financing is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; MBA or CPA is preferred.
- Ten or more years of experience in financial reporting and analysis required.
- Experience with growing a business organically and through acquisition is strongly preferred.
